Imagine being part of a team that’s redefining the future of mobility—where your ideas don’t just sit in a lab but power next-generation technology. At indie, we are developing cutting-edge semiconductors, photonics, and radar sensors and systems for automotive, industrial, and adjacent markets. Our innovations are at the heart of advanced intelligent sensing and user experience applications, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

If you're passionate about groundbreaking technology and want to make a real impact alongside a fast-paced team that thrives on creativity and collaboration, we’d love to have you on board!

We’re seeking a Software Technical Test Lead to be responsible for and lead our Automotive Radar Software verification process. This role will be crucial as we move from external test operations to an entirely in-house approach.

You will define and execute our software verification strategy, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 ASIL B and Automotive SPICE 4.0 CL2. You’ll work closely with engineering teams and customers to validate safety-critical and functional software components, including low-level drivers and communication stacks. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive test automation, CI/CD integration, and performance/stress testing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead embedded software verification activities from planning through execution and reporting.

  • Develop and enforce verification strategies, guidelines, and safety compliance procedures.

  • Lead and mentor the software verification team across component, integration, and system-level testing.

  • Ensure verification of safety requirements in accordance with ISO 26262 ASIL B.

  • Collaborate directly with customers, providing transparency through detailed reports and coverage evidence.

  • Verify AUTOSAR MCAL, CDD, and BSW software layers.

  • Validate low-level drivers (Quad SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet).

  • Review test specifications and reports to ensure full requirements and design coverage.

  • Conduct performance, stress, and robustness testing of embedded systems.

  • Automate test cases using C, Python, and CAPL, and integrate them into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

  • Use Vector tools such as DaVinci Configurator, vTestStudio, VectorCAST, and CANoe.

  • Perform debugging and signal analysis using Lauterbach, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.

  • Verify Ethernet-based technologies: gPTP (IEEE 802.1AS), TSN, and MACsec.

  • Interpret microcontroller datasheets and reference manuals for test case development and issue analysis.

  • Maintain full traceability between requirements and test cases using Jama.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in embedded software verification within the automotive industry.

  • Proven leadership in managing test teams and owning end-to-end verification processes.

  • Demonstrated experience in test case specification, automation, and execution.

  • Strong understanding of ISO 26262 ASIL B and Automotive SPICE.

  • Proficient in C, Python, and CAPL for test development and automation.

  • In-depth experience testing MCAL, CDD, BSW layers, and low-level interfaces (Quad SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet).

  • Familiarity with performance and stress testing techniques.

  • Excellent debugging skills using hardware tools and software debuggers.

  • Strong communication skills, including direct customer interaction.

  • ISTQB Certified (Foundation Level or higher) – Required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Jama for requirements and test management.

  • Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD and CMake.

  • Experience with Lauterbach debuggers.

  • Knowledge of secure boot and cybersecurity verification practices.

  • Understanding of automotive Ethernet protocols including gPTP, TSN, and MACsec.
