We're thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Viasat Government People & Culture (P&C) team as a People and Culture People Partner. This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds: meaningful collaboration in our Duluth office and the flexibility of remote work.

 

The People & Culture (P&C) People Partner is a trusted advisor responsible for delivering operational P&C generalist services across Viasat Government (VGOV). This role supports employees and managers through the full employee lifecycle, ensuring consistent application of P&C policies, effective resolution of employee relations matters, and a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

 

Operating in a dynamic and highly regulated environment, the People Partner provides hands-on support in performance management, investigations, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations. This role collaborates closely with shared services, centers of excellence, and other P&C functions to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with VGOV’s values and business goals.

The day-to-day:

Employee Relations & Investigations

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to employees and managers
  • Conduct thorough, impartial workplace investigations and document findings with recommended actions
  • Promote open communication and conflict resolution to foster a respectful and productive work environment

Performance Management

  • Coach managers through performance management processes including goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement plans
  • Support facilitation of performance reviews and ensure alignment with VGOV’s culture of accountability
  • Provide tools and resources to drive effective performance conversations and outcomes

Policy Implementation & Compliance

  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are communicated, understood, and consistently applied
  • Monitor legal compliance and risk management practices, staying current with employment law and industry standards
  • Support audit readiness and documentation integrity across employee relations and HR processes

Operational HR Support

  • Manage and maintain employee records, contracts, and P&C documentation
  • Respond to P&C queries and provide day-to-day support for onboarding, offboarding, leave management, and other lifecycle processes
  • Collaborate with shared services and centers of excellence to ensure efficient and compliant P&C operations

Culture & Engagement

  • Support initiatives that foster an inclusive, engaging, and high-performing workplace culture
  • Act as a culture ambassador, modeling VGOV’s values and supporting employee well-being
  • Partner with leaders to reinforce positive behaviors and drive employee engagement
What you'll need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field; HR certification preferred
  • 5–8 years of experience in HR generalist or employee relations roles
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or highly regulated industries preferred

Salary range:$104,500.00 - $165,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $124,500.00- $186,500.00/ annually :At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
