The Manufacturing Engineer I has ownership over the assembly and manufacturing processes supporting Internal Manufacturing, Preassembly, and Project areas. This is a liaison between the design phase and the operations phase of the projects.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with the Project Teams and the Mechanical Engineers to provide design for manufacturing recommendations on fabricated and purchased parts.
  • Responsible for MBOM verification within MLM software of new or modified projects.
  • Responsible for creation of routings and production orders for parts listed within MBOM of new projects.
  • Responsible for treatment of Modification Change Orders on existing projects.
  • Provides recommendations of internal versus external procurement on fabricated project parts.
  • Support project teams by identifying alternate materials for supply issues impacting timeline.
  • Support CI on process improvement projects related to Internal Manufacturing, Preassembly and Project processes.
  • Support Procurement in identifying vendor capabilities and parts placement with vendors.
  • Support disposition of nonconforming materials affecting the project.

Required Education, Knowledge, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Highschool Diploma, or equivalent GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and/or minimum of 5 years of Relevant Experience
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from Engineering Drawings
  • CAD, DWF and PDF
  • Ability to work hands on as a team player as well as independently as needed.
  • Possesses demonstrated experience presenting and communicating with large groups.
  • Must be available to work overtime.
  • May be required to work off shift hours and holidays.
  • May be asked to travel up to 10%
