Reports to: Director of Product
Location: Madison, WI
Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Thursday 8am to 4pm, Hybrid, Exempt, 32 hours per week

BCycle’s Product Engineering Team is committed to bringing new and innovative products to shared mobility. We are looking for a passionate Business Analyst II to join our fun and inspiring work environment. In this role you will contribute to the software team by outlining new features, gathering requirements for user stories from stakeholders, and writing user stories and other work items for the software team. This person collaborates closely with the product owner to define work that delivers value to the organization and its stakeholders. They communicate progress back to stakeholders in release notes, guidance documentation, and meetings and seek feedback to continuously refine the software products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze business needs and write user stories to address them
- Reproduce and document reported bugs
- Coordinate and collaborate with the product owner and software architects to craft features and plan projects
- Sketch design concepts and user journey maps to facilitate feature development
- Design screen flows and prepare wireframes and mockups to convey UI/UX requirements to the software team
- Support the development and refinement of the software roadmap
- Present story requirements to the scrum team in sprint planning and backlog refinement meetings and clarify requirements during development, as needed
- Respond to operator tickets, answer operator questions, and escalate tickets to software engineers, as needed
- Write release notes for software releases, including app releases, and support related communications to stakeholders (e.g. guidance documentation, email announcements)
- Query databases and use other reporting tools to gain insights into user norms and preferences, feature adoption, etc.
- Contribute to defining success criteria for software product initiatives and track feature performance over time through data analysis and stakeholder feedback
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in UX design and/or business analysis
- Ability to write and speak clearly to business and technical audiences
- Ability to analyze problems and outline potential solutions
- Ability to prepare wireframes and mockups in keeping with relevant user experience design concepts and standards
- Experience analyzing data using Excel
- Experience writing SQL queries a plus
- Experience on an agile software development team a plus
- Experience working in the micromobility, cycling and/or urban transportation infrastructure industries a plus

- Required standing or sitting for several hours straight at a time
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with company policy
- Repetitive motion required of the wrists, hands, or fingers occasionally throughout the workday
- Any travel would be primarily local during the business day.
- Work from home shifts require a reliable internet connection and an environment to take calls where quiet & customer privacy can be assured.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
- Must be able to lift up to 20lbs.
- This role requires the ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand, understand the speech of another person, see details of objects that are less than a few feet away, stand or sit for several hours straight at a time, and bend or stoop as necessary.
- This is a full-time position expected to work 32 hours per week (4 days per week, 8 hours per day). Some hours outside of this, including nights and weekends, may be required.
