Responsibilities
- Coordinates clinical nursing assignments to ensure optimal coverage, timely patient flow, and excellent patient care.
- Identify opportunities to improve clinic flow, and escalate solutions to Clinic Nurse Manager
- Ensures that care and services provided through the clinic space are appropriate and in accordance with provider orders, consideration of patient and staff safety, and organization policies and guidelines.
- Serves as a clinical and management resource for decision-making, problem solving, and employee performance reviews.
- Serves as a liaison between provider teams, staff, and management when the Clinic Nurse Manager is not available.
- Advises clinic nursing staff and management in matters related to patient care, operation of the clinic nursing department, and the flow of clinic.
- Responsible for addressing patient issues/complaints related to care and/or service received in the clinic or by nursing staff.
- Delegates clinic nursing tasks to the clinic nursing team in conjunction with Clinic Manager.
- Assists in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with the Clinic Manager, Director of Clinical Operations, and Director of Quality and Compliance to ensure MIPS, and/or other quality measures, are met in completion.
- Assists with evaluating quality of care/services provided. Identifies areas needing improvement and makes appropriate recommendations to Clinic Manager and Director to address quality deficiencies.
- Provides direct patient care, maintaining current skills and competencies required of all other LPNs and CMAs in the department. To include, but not limited to, being able to fill-in for triage in all provider clinics, and fill-in for all jelly tasks in all provider clinics.
- Adheres to the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of orientation and training plans for new clinic nurses.
- Prepares the clinic triage schedule for nurses, in conjunction with Clinic Manager, ensuring adequate staffing of the department.
- Plans for staffing needs and covers clinic nursing staff absences as needed.
- Reviews PTO requests, to plan for nursing staff coverage, and reviews and approves timecards for payroll.
- Collaborates with Clinic Manager to assign clinic nursing staff to providers and meet provider team needs.
