TITLE: Route Manager
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisors
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Position Summary:
The Route Manager plays a key role in enhancing the experience of both Tiger Sanitation employees and customers. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor and Manager, this position is responsible for auditing operational practices, improving performance, and guiding employee behavior within the Operations Department.
Essential Functions:
- Partner with Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Supervisors to address and improve employee performance.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and assign workloads while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and service standards.
- Conduct weekly fleet inspections to assess vehicle cleanliness, mechanical condition, and ensure required documentation is present.
- Manage tasks assigned through the company’s enterprise risk management system.
- Investigate customer damage claims and complete all necessary documentation.
- Perform and document route observations, as well as pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Assist in optimizing route efficiency.
- Communicate route changes promptly to the dispatch team.
- Review and complete daily work orders.
- Ensure route sheets and Digital Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) are accurately completed by the end of each day.
- Ensure drivers comply with OSHA, DOT, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Support the Sales Department in customer retention efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
- Strong commitment to representing Tiger Sanitation as the preferred choice for customers, employees, and the community.

Education and Experience
- Valid Class C Driver’s License required.
- CDL Driver’s License preferred.
- Experience in commercial, industrial and residential waste services preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Working Conditions
This role is primarily outdoors and involves exposure to various weather conditions. Physical activities include prolonged periods of standing, sitting, squatting, climbing, reaching, and lifting.
