Special Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration   or related Field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing   federal IT programs or portfolios, preferably supporting DHS/CBP, with   responsibility for delivery, financial oversight, and growth objectives.


The Gist…

Our CBP Portfolio Manager serves as the primary leader for   Amivero’s portfolio of programs at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).   In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to our CBP customers and a   motivational leader to the Amivero delivery teams. You will be responsible   for driving the success of the CBP portfolio by ensuring operational   excellence, delivering mission outcomes, and building long-term customer and   partner relationships.


You will oversee multiple programs and task orders,   partner closely with customer stakeholders, ensure consistent delivery of   high-quality services, and collaborate with internal Amivero teams to align   portfolio strategy with corporate growth and technology objectives.


What Your Day Might Include…

Organizational and Leadership Role:

  • Build and maintain trusted, mission-focused   relationships with CBP leadership through regular customer engagement and   proactive solutioning.
  • Develop and maintain a CBP portfolio strategy   to meet customer mission needs, delivery objectives, and Amivero’s corporate   growth goals.
  • Drive organic growth by embedding   cross-functional solutions, enhancing program innovation, and aligning   portfolio execution to CBP priorities.
  • Provide “managing up” support—ensuring Amivero   leadership has situational awareness of risks, performance, and customer   sentiment.
  • Mobilize and support program managers within   the CBP account to deliver high-quality results while maintaining team morale   and engagement.
  • Mentor and coach Amivero staff, fostering   professional growth and building succession depth within the portfolio.

Delivery and Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the performance of all programs and task orders within the CBP portfolio, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and customer expectations.
  • Define portfolio strategies, align resources, and support teams to achieve outcomes for CBP programs.
  • Monitor delivery risks, staffing, and client engagement; intervene as needed to ensure program success.
  • Partner with task order leadership to establish and refine best practices, processes, and repeatable solutions. 
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of deliverables, reports, and program artifacts.

Growth and Financial Management

  • Collaborate with Amivero’s Growth team on   proposal responses, staffing strategies, and capture activities tied to the CBP account.
  • Accountable for achieving portfolio financial performance, including revenue, staffing, and P&L objectives.
  • Identify and pursue expansion opportunities within the CBP customer space through strong relationships and knowledge of  customer mission needs.
  • Effectively communicate Amivero’s full suite of capabilities to CBP stakeholders to support both retention and growth. Delivery environment and building strong customer relationships.

Customer and Employee Intimacy

  • Foster strong, trust-based relationships with   CBP customers as a thought partner and problem solver.
  • Maintain a pulse on the workforce, ensuring   employee engagement, retention, and career development opportunities.
  • Partner with internal talent teams to identify   skill gaps and support training, mentorship, and professional growth within   the CBP portfolio. Talent Management and Development

Partner and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Manage relationships with partners and   subcontractors supporting CBP programs.
  • Resolve partner performance issues and   maintain workshare commitments.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and   Growth teams to identify and strengthen teaming relationships for future CBP   opportunities.


  

  

Requirements

You’ll Bring These   Qualifications…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing federal IT programs, with at least 5 years supporting DHS/CBP or similar homeland security missions.
  • Demonstrated success leading portfolios of   $20M+ annual revenue and/or 50+ FTEs.
  • Strong understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle, DHS/CBP priorities, and IT modernization initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to build buy-in across diverse   stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to drive both delivery excellence and account growth.
  • Experience coaching and developing leaders and   staff to advance professional growth and succession readiness.
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L accountability and portfolio-level budgeting.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple programs, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
