The Director, Enterprise Patient Support Program (PSP) Strategy Lead is an experienced leader responsible for above brand enterprise-level-strategy, operational excellence, and governance across patient support services.
This role owns the strategic roadmap, identifies and mitigates operational risks, and ensures alignment with enterprise objectives. The Director, Enterprise Patient Support Program (PSP) Strategy Lead will lead initiatives that enhance process efficiency, elevate patient support services and deliver measurable business impact by driving decision making and representing the PSP function in senior leadership forums.
This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site.
Duties & Responsibilities
STRATEGIC & CROSS FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
- Leads the identification and synthesis of market intelligence and internal performance data to inform enterprise level strategic decisions and drive innovation in patient support services by imbedding insights into planning cycles in collaboration with PPS TA & Digital Innovation Leads, cross functional stakeholders and senior leadership teams.
- Owns the strategic ideation and prioritization process by translating business trends and industry benchmarks into differentiated, above-brand initiatives that advance PSP enterprise objectives aligned to corporate priorities and measurable outcomes by leading cross functional working sessions, to include but not limited to, Legal, IT, Corporate Strategy.
- Provides enterprise-level thought leadership to influence cross functional decision-making, ensuring PSP strategies are embedded in broader business growth and capability plans.
- Serves as a key advisor and member of key working teams facilitating strategic alignment across U.S. and Global stakeholders and delivering executive/senior level leadership recommendations that shape long-term enterprise direction.
- Serves as the escalation point for operational compliance or reputational risk related to patient services, with authority to make decisions or escalate to executive leadership as needed.
- Leads tactical and strategic planning PPS team meetings with a focus on strategic alignment, decision making, and follow through on key initiatives, especially when goals are interdependent and cross functional.
OPERATIONS STRATEGY, EXECUTION & PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
- Designs and implements enterprise-level performance measurement framework to evaluate process effectiveness, program performance, compliance adherence, and operational efficiency. In strong collaboration with analytics and insights leadership define KPIs, leads PSP above brand business reviews, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that directly support operational readiness and patient support excellence.
- Demonstrated success in prioritization, organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to create solutions for issues, gaps and opportunities by managing projects and co-leading initiatives that drive organizational growth.
- Architects and oversees the development of enterprise-wide, above brand knowledge library, including standardized PSP design playbooks aligned to product lifecycle, governance frameworks, and operational documentation.
- Leverages deep expertise in SOPs, workflows, and compliance protocols to institutionalize best practices and drive consistency across all PSP functions.
- Accountable for ensuring content is actionable and aligned with regulatory and strategic priorities and establishing a cadence of review.
- Leads strategic process transformation initiatives across the PSP ecosystem, with full accountability for identifying systemic inefficiencies compliance risks, and operational gaps.
- Directs cross-functional working groups to implement scalable solutions, and present findings and recommendations to executive leadership to include requests for resource allocation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (e.g. MBA, MSc).
- At least ten-plus (10+) years of Pharma industry knowledge, e.g., consulting, medical affairs, marketing/sales, product development, business development; patient services experience preferred.
- Four-plus (4+) years’ experience in Patient Services and/or pharmaceutical strategy and operations role.
- Three-plus (3+) years’ experience in leading highly collaborative teams.
- Excellent Judgement – regarding the “how”, “what”, and “when” of addressing Sr. Leaders and key stakeholders with sensitive issues.
- Proven experience and a strong understanding of what it takes to succeed in project management.
- Ability to build relationships on mid and senior executive level and become a discussion partner and a trusted advisor on a broad range of management topics.
- Ability to provide quality control and guidance on projects.
