Job Purpose
The Warehouse Operator performs routine, non-routine, and complex warehouse and shipping assignments while operating sophisticated equipment under general supervision. This position ensures the efficient and accurate movement of materials while maintaining high standards of safety, organization, and compliance. We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Warehouse Operator to support shipping, receiving, and storage activities. This role involves operating forklifts and pumps, handling raw materials and finished goods, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with HSE standards, AkzoNobel Life Saving Rules, waste management system, Product Stewardship procedures, distribution and road safety requirements, incident reporting, product SDS (MSDS), and proper PPE requirements.
- Actively participate in safety programs, complete daily checklists, and contribute to 5S initiatives.
- Read, understand, and follow pick lists and Bills of Lading (BOLs).
- Pull finished goods from storage and put away raw materials in designated areas.
- Safely operate and drive forklifts.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
- Operate pumps to off-load tankers.
- Perform setup and cleanup for assigned tasks.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices, consolidate, and organize warehouses and outside storage areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
- Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred but not required
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
- Excellent reading and comprehension skills
- Good communication skills
- Must be safety conscious
- Ability to follow directions
- Propensity to use good judgment in making independent decisions
- Ability to work with various types of personalities
Physical Requirements
- Possess physical strength and dexterity to perform job
- Able to lift 50-70 pounds
- Able to stand for 8-10 hours per day
Compensation
The starting hourly rate for these skills is $18.50. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. This hourly rate may also be modified in the future.
