We are currently looking for a HUC Full-time 2nd shift (10:00am-6:15pm)

Overtime (1.5 times your base rate) on hours worked over 80 hours in a pay period.

Health Unit Coordinators (HUCs) play a crucial role in healthcare facilities by providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of medical units. They coordinate patient care, maintain medical records, and perform various tasks to facilitate efficient healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Coordination:
- Schedule and manage patient appointments
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Maintain medical records and patient charts
- Process insurance paperwork and billing
- Administrative Tasks:
- Answer phone calls and handle patient inquiries
- Order medical supplies and maintain inventory
- Coordinate with healthcare staff to ensure patient flow
- Prepare and distribute reports and documentation
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare providers, and other staff
- Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals
- Respond to emergencies and handle patient complaints
- Compliance and Regulations:
- Adhere to HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical assistant certification or experience preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare software
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
