Assistant Nordic Ski coach will assist the Coordinator of Skiing in planning and organizing all phases of the NCAA Division 1 Ski Team program including but not limited to Assist Head Coach with planning and organization of practice sessions, Assist in set up and administration of home meets, Attend all practices as designated by head coach, Assist head coach in organizing community service projects, Assist Head Coach in recruitment of prospective student athletes, Assist Head Coach in fundraising and promoting UNH skiing and athletics on campus and throughout the country.
Job Duties:
Responsible for working with Head Coach on developing training and yearly plans for the athletes and team.
Assist organizing practices, Assess Talent and actively recruit talented student-athletes to the Nordic ski team who are suitable for the UNH academic programs.
Assist, plan and help coordinate all fund-raising initiatives to support the UNH Ski Team.
Assist in the development and maintenance of strong alumni, parent and booster support for the ski team.
Promote the team in the state, New England and Nationals.
Encourage student-athletes to perform to their highest academic potential by assisting head coach with monitoring the retention eligibility of student-athletes as it impacts the UNH Ski Team
Assist with organizing and engage team members in community service projects.
Pass the NCAA coaches certification test, participate in athletic department meetings, attend all mandatory NCAA Compliance meetings and assist in maintaining appropriate forms and documentation of files.
Represent the University on a high professional level, with dignity, and strength of character.
Respect the rights and dignity of each student-athlete, display sensitivity to diversity issues and work to create an inclusive and welcoming environment
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
One year of coaching experience.
Participation in sport coached.
