Salary: Starting at $77,842.93 - Negotiable with experience
This position is responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis and preparation of commercial loan approval package for business loan requests. As a senior member of the Credit Administration staff within Business Services, the Sr. Credit Analyst works cooperatively with the team to support the Business Lending functions. This support includes but is not limited to, timely review of business and personal tax returns and interim financial statements, preparation and analysis of financial spreads, calculation of debt service coverage and loan to value, reviewing credit reports, preparing credit file memos, and maintaining credit/legal files.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for more in-depth financial analysis on complex commercial loan requests.
- Prepares comprehensive commercial loan approval package to include evidence of credit structure analysis and due diligence. Due diligence includes the assignment of commercial loan risk grade.
- Works cooperatively with Lending staff to propose new structure on deals, when warranted to mitigate risk and find a solution.
- Responsible for the preparation of financial spreads and business/global cash flow, as well as evaluation of personal credit.
- Review annual financial information on required loans in order to prepare and or assist in the preparation of the necessary annual review and assessment of existing credit risk.
- Assist with preparation of all credit files, legal documentation, establishment of monitoring ticklers and department reporting.
- Take a leadership position within the team and review and provide feedback on Annual Reviews, and standard Credit Approval Memorandums. Assist credit analysts in coming up to speed with systems, procedures and provide feedback on good credit practices.
- Share past experience, best practices, and underwriting strategies on more complex deals with other credit analysts.
- Understands established Loan and Credit Guidelines and Procedures. Able to identify deviations from Policies; cite and mitigate deviations/exceptions, when applicable.
- Familiarity with various types of collateral, calculating loan to value, and appraisal reports/reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding credit union policies and procedures, financial data, personal information, and work-related events.
- Provide quality support and maintain a professional relationship with peers, management, other staff, and members through cooperation, mutual trust, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned, when needed.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Continue to build and share knowledge of the principles of commercial credit, commercial banking laws, federal and state credit union laws, and regulations.
- Exhibit and apply knowledge of the Credit Union’s Member Business Loan Guidelines and Procedures.
- Knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, including business and individual financial statement analysis with special focus on liquidity, leverage, cash flow, collateral, and risk grading. Solid interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to converse with: sales professionals, sales support, borrowers, CPAs, and Attorneys (when needed) and Business Development Officers. Be available to accompany Business Development Officers on a prospect call.
- Exhibits a strong knowledge of either Commercial Real Estate or Commercial and Industrial loan structure and underwriting skills or both.
- The desire to build and develop a business acumen through reading and additional study.
- Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and timely.

Education/Experience/Certifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business discipline or acceptable years of related experience.
Experience: 5 years of experience working in Commercial Lending or Business Banking.
