The Clinical Assistant Training Lead Dermatology will exude exceptional internal and external customer service, excellent organizational skills, strong teamwork, and dedication to providing a superior patient experience and clinical quality. The Dermatology Clinical Assistant Quality Lead has mastered the entire patient process through check-in, patient rooming, scribing, check-out, and patient navigation while demonstrating strong leadership and mentorship skills.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates and complies with all Network and department standards on Safety, confidentiality, Service Excellence, Performance Improvement, Financial responsibility, attendance and dress code, and competency in patient assessment.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service working with patients both over the phone and in-person.
- Maintains high level of competence on Physician Billing computer system with ability to complete all font desk responsibilities.
- Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record prior to the appointment with recent test results and correspondence and determines needed services per practice protocol. Confers with the physician, NP or PA regarding any incomplete patient tests/consults or other incomplete orders to the patient visit.
- Prepares patients for the examination and treatment by obtaining accurate vital signs, medications list, current allergies, personal, family and social history, and Chief Complaint for the visit.
- Acts as scribe and performs provider documentation of patient information, accurately enters provider orders and medications, per physician instruction following all guidelines for documentation and billing following SLPG guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability to prepare and assist with surgical procedures, including but not limited to; assisting physician with surgical procedures, prepare sterile tables, maintain high standards of sterile technique, safe handling of equipment and completing proper sterilization.
- Follow-up contact with patient as indicated to ensure compliance with recommendations, medications, labs or other testing as well as specialist visits.
- Work with Physicians and administrator to create efficient office operations.
- Provides routine quality audits on clinical documentation, office consistencies, clinical metrics and 3rd party requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours at time). Requires continual use of fingers for patient care, writing and computer entry. Routinely uses upper extremities; occasional requirement to lift up to 25 pounds. Occasionally push cart with supplies up to 30 pounds. Occasionally push wheelchair with patient weighing up to 325 pounds. Regularly requires ability to stoop, bend and reach above shoulder level. Requires ability to hear normal conversation and good general, near and peripheral vision.
EDUCATION:
Required
- BLS Certification
Preferred
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistance Program, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Surgical Technician with two years office experience in similar setting.
MINIMUM - MAXIMUM COMPENSATION PAY RANGE:
$18.55 - $27.83St Luke’s University Health Network is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on state requirements.
