MED-PEDS PHYSICIAN
Department: Goleta Neighborhood Clinic Location: Goleta, CASUMMARY:
The Med-Peds Physician provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across the lifespan, treating both adults and children in outpatient, inpatient, and/or urgent care settings. This role combines the expertise of internal medicine and pediatrics to manage acute and chronic illnesses, preventive health, and complex medical conditions for patients of all ages. The physician collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide high-quality primary and specialty care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients during scheduled and walk-in visits.
- Perform thorough physical examinations, including growth and developmental assessments for children, to monitor overall health.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions across all age groups.
- Deliver preventive health care, including wellness exams, screenings, immunizations, and counseling on vaccine schedules and disease prevention.
- Offer health guidance on nutrition, physical activity, sleep, mental health, and behavioral issues for patients and families.
- Coordinate care with specialists, nursing staff, and allied health professionals, including for children with complex medical or psychosocial needs.
- Provide emergency and urgent care as needed, including first aid and stabilization.
- Perform hospital rounds and provide inpatient care when required.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and compliant patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Accurately code and bill for services while adhering to administrative, regulatory, and organizational guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and continuing medical education.
- Collaborate effectively in a team-based environment with physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health staff.
- Adhere to all compliance, safety, and ethical standards in clinical practice.
- Working with ped residents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine�Pediatrics residency program.
- Board certified or board eligible in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
- Current, unrestricted state medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
- DEA license for prescribing controlled substances.
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate, and culturally competent care.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in both outpatient and inpatient medicine.
- Interest in preventive care, chronic disease management, and transitional care for adolescents to adults.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based care model.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).
Salary Range: $260,000 - $275,00 ANNUALY
