Work Year /Hours: Twelve Months – 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (All year long)
Start Date: October 1, 2025
Salary: Per Contract
Qualifications (Evidence of qualifications must be on file by closing date of posting)
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Experience in the care of, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of school buildings.
- Demonstrated record of dependability and reliable attendance.
- Ability to communicate with custodians in his/her building.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the routine cleaning and maintenance necessary in the building.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Record of excellent attendance and punctuality. (Poor attendance applicants will not be accepted
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for cleaning, sanitizing and general upkeep of the school building and grounds.
- Responsible for the care, operation, and security of the building including proper heating, lighting, ventilation, and minor maintenance.
- Responsible to receive, store, issue, and move, as necessary, operational supplies and equipment.
- Responsible for installing small equipment such as pencil sharpeners, maps, screens, and towel holders. Make proper adjustments of desks, hinges, locks, blinds, etc. Repair minor maintenance deficiencies such as unplugging drains, toilets, washbasins, replacing faucet washers, replacing motors, bearings, fan belts, and vacuum repair, etc.
- Responsible for the removal of snow and ice from the sidewalks.
- Responsible for submitting reports to the central staff as requested.
- Responsible for making a periodic check of the school building and report to the Director regarding the condition of the building. The Building and Grounds Director will be advised of any condition needing immediate attention when discovered.
- Able to set up board meetings at multiple locations as needed.
- Responsible for placing food and drink orders and restocking refrigerators daily.
- Deliver board agenda items on a weekly basis.
- Maintain both aquatic tanks, including feeding, cleaning, and water changes as needed.
- Set up parties and events and break them down within an appropriate timeframe.
