POSITION: Community School Development Specialist - Grant Funded - Part-Time

 

The Community School Development Specialist provides leadership, professional development, and technical assistance to school-based Community School Liaisons, school leaders, and other staff working in community schools. This position ensures the effective implementation of the community school strategy across the district by aligning resources, supporting data-driven practices, and fostering collaboration among schools, families, and community partners. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE: 

 

  • Design and deliver professional development for Community School Liaisons and school teams on topics such as needs assessments, partnership development, implementation plans, impacts of poverty, and family engagement.  
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Community School standards and Community School Implementation Plans.  
  • Facilitate regular collaboration and learning communities among community school liaisons.  
  • Analyze data and provide guidance on using key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.  
  • Serve as a liaison between schools and community agencies to broker partnerships aligned with school goals.  
  • Provide coaching and consultation to school leaders and liaisons on community school strategies, integrating wraparound supports, and trauma-informed practices.  
  • Coordinate district-level reporting and compliance with MSDE and grant requirements.  
  • Promote inclusion and culturally responsive practices in all aspects of the community school strategy.  
  • Represent the district in local and state-level community school networks and initiatives.  
  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Education:  

  • Required: Bachelors Degree   
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in education, social work, counseling, or related field.  

Experience:  

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in education, human services, or community engagement.  
  • Demonstrated experience in professional development, coaching, or program coordination.  
  • Preferred familiarity with community school models and budget management.   

Skills:  

  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and organizational skills.  
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.  
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.  
  • Resource allocation and budgeting  
  • Knowledge of school systems, community resources, and inclusive practices.  

 

DUTY YEAR AND SALARY: 

 

This is a part-time position ranging from $40-$45/hr depending on experience.
