- This is a 6-month contracted position with possible renewal and expectations to work 16 to 40 hours/week depending on the candidate's availability.
- This is a non-exempt position, paid hourly, and eligible for additional hours as necessary.
- This is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least three days in our Farmington Hills, Michigan office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site. No relocation benefit will be offered for this position.
- Review scope and background of the project and become aware that the scope is very limited to no more than 18 electrical functions in the car and that the project is an engineering investigation and not a development effort. Understand that the project is using a partial Demonstrator Board as a proxy for the vehicle.
- Study and absorb the existing scheme for the Vehicle Power Distribution and related electrical feature functional sequence and requirements as well as study and absorb the Vehicle States Matrix.
- Carry-out the maintenance of the Electrical Feature Functional Requirements diagram. Assure that the Electrical Feature Operating Logic Specifications within are complete and coherent.
- Study and absorb the electrical feature block diagrams as well as the related circuits attributes table.
- Create and maintain the I/O Matrix as well as the CAN message Matrix for the Junction Box power electronics ECU. Translate all the precursor engineering deliverables such as block diagrams and I/O matrix into an ECU manufacturing specifications and requirements document.
- Propose problem solving action plans as it relates to the prototyping activities in the context of Automotive Zonal ECU engineering investigation project.
- Assure the data integrity and produce timely reports on the status of the project.
- Use MS office proficiently to develop reports, presentations, Planning, and engineering documentation.
- Take initiative and work autonomously to carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the job description and establish performance objectives support engineering and commercial open issues resolutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years experience as a design release engineer for electronic ECUs or equipment such as mechatronic switches.
- Familiar with product launch and program management.
- Self-directed individual with solid background in program performance metrics and data analysis.
