Title VI / IEFA Coordinator Part Time position - up to 32 hrs per week - $30.00/hr

Reports To Superintendent
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
- Assisting in the successful implementation of the Indian Education for All Act (MCA 20-1-501.)
- Working to close the achievement gap for American Indian students in the Havre Public School District.
- Planning, developing, coordinating, and presenting learning opportunities for Native American students in each building.
- Informing staff members of and/or presenting professional development opportunities, IEFA teacher lesson plans, and resources.
- Perform some home – school liaison duties.
- Collaborates with TANF regarding student/parent or guardian issues.
- Represents district on various agency boards as requested/assigned.
- Collect and disseminate data regarding dropouts in the District.
- Coordinate the District’s program for students who are at high risk of dropping out of school.
- Annual preparation of a dropout reduction plan.
- Aid in providing a remedial and support program for any student who is at risk of dropping out of school.
- All other duties as outlined in HPS Board Policy 3610.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and to respond to questions from school administrators, teachers, parents, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to operate computers and related software. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, administrators, parents and community members. Ability to deal effectively with confidential matters. Ability to follow directions. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to deal with flexible scheduling. Must possess valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.
