Coordinates and executes the hiring process in collaboration with the district office staff, administration, and directors.

Maintains documentation
Maintain a working knowledge of comparable-level assignments to support the functions within the district.
Maintain oversight, updates, and revisions to district policies, manuals, and handbooks with research-based and legal-based best practices.
Ensure and maintain compliance with all applicable policies, federal, state, and local employment laws, and regulations.
Plans, directs, coordinates, and implements the terms and conditions of the employment process (i.e., coordinating and preparing for negotiation meetings).
Analyses and interprets collective bargaining agreements;
Provides background and research for employee negotiations, including salary surveys and market studies.
Compensation reviews, comp worth studies, and prepare job descriptions;
Provide oversight and assistance in Workers’ Compensation claims and assist with claims management.
Provide oversight and assistance in the ADA Interactive Process and follow-up;
Assists in employee attendance systems.
Analyze employee time cards and absence reports.
Promptly resolve discrepancies related to schedules and reported hours.
Serves as the district’s coordinator for committees (such as insurance, wellness, continuing education, and activities).
Research and recommend best practices and procedures
Works closely with payroll to ensure timely and accurate benefit deductions.
Verify benefit billing statements against insurance enrollment data to maintain accuracy.
Audit information to ensure data is correct in payroll systems and spreadsheets.
Oversee management of all employee leave of absences, including FMLA, workers' compensation, PFML, ESST, and unemployment.
Maintains, develops, and monitors training compliance
I.e., highly qualified paraprofessional qualifications, licensure status
Ensures staff compliance with district policies, procedures, and state and federal laws.
Maintain oversight, coordination, and documentation for personnel (including open enrollment, life changes.
Maintain accurate background checks, employee records, and files.
Oversight, coordination, scheduling, and documentation of staff observations/performance reviews
Maintains seniority lists each year within the district
Maintain oversight, coordination, and documentation of data requests consistent with applicable policies and the Data Practices Act.
Implements, compiles, prepares, and coordinates various reports for federal, state, and local officials/agencies, including audit reports, OPEB, Actuarial Study, CRDC, and Pay Equity.
Promotes district health and wellness benefits and initiatives
Monitors & maintains requirements for injury submissions, following up with the supervisor and employee to ensure wellness checks and compliance requirements are met.
Prepares OSHA logs and records
Plans, directs, coordinates, and implements the district wellness, health and safety committees.
Serves as the primary contact for licensure questions, exceptions, and special permission via the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB).
Maintains oversight, coordination, and documentation to prepare and submit required reports such as the STAR report.
Monitors staff to ensure they are adequately licensed for assignments such as a teaching license or a highly qualified paraprofessional.
Prepares out-of-field placement applications as needed
Maintains tenure records for certified staff.
Work with administration, directors, and supervisors on personnel matters.
Provide oversight, research, resources, and documentation for the grievance process.
Collaborates and consults with district administration, consultants, and other professionals regarding the needs of staff.
Support conflict resolution and disciplinary procedures.
Serves as a resource for staff for HR-related questions and concerns.
Provides professional expertise and assistance to individuals, other district staff, and the community concerning areas of instructional expertise/knowledge.

Job Summary:
This position interfaces with all school district administrators across multiple areas, providing expert technical support and advice on all functional aspects of human resources and district operations. In collaboration with the superintendent, business manager, and administrators, the human resources generalist is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating intermediate administrative duties to support the effective and efficient operation of the district, thereby assisting in providing and maintaining a high-quality working and learning environment for Pine City Public Schools.
