Domain Overview 

The Digital Workplace domain is part of the Bank’s Technology division, and is responsible for selecting, delivering and continuously improving a portfolio of digital services that help colleagues across Bank to collaborate, communicate and be productive irrespective of role, device or location.

 Job description

This is a scale F (specialist) role in the Application Packaging and Deployment Services team in the Bank’s Digital Workplace Domain. 

 Your responsibilities will include

  • Creating and updating application packages
  • Delivering applications through a variety of delivery technologies
  • Managing the lifecycle of applications, including retention and removal
  • Ensuring that an appropriate balance is achieved between maintaining live services and  delivering projects through active time management
  • Out of hours on-call support
  • Researching and developing solutions that expand or enhance the service and technology portfolios, automate IT operations, reduce costs or increase levels of service 
  • Ensure that colleagues across the organization understand how to use and access our services, and the value of doing so
  • Supporting wider initiatives led by the Digital Services and Digital Workplace leadership teams
  • Adhering to ITIL processes
  • Providing training where necessary for other technology teams

Role Requirements

Minimum Criteria

  • MSI - Strong application packaging experience in creating/modifying Microsoft Installer Packages
  • APP-V - Strong application packaging experience in creating applications using App-V 4.6 and App-V 5
  • Appventix experience
  • InTune support and application delivery
  • MECM – Ability to create and distribute applications
  • Citrix - Ability to publish and troubleshoot applications
  • Scripting - Strong PowerShell and VBS
  • Discovery - Ability to communicate with application owners to ascertain application configuration
  • Ability to create bespoke command driven installations
  • Ability to troubleshoot installation and runtime issues
  • A high level of integrity, organisation and self-motivation with a desire for self-improvement
  • Ability to own application full lifecycle from packaging requirements and live deployment to decommission.

Salary and Benefits Information
We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements.  Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.
 
The salary range for this Leeds based role is £55,280 - £62,190 
 
In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
  • Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.  The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time.
  • A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
  • An 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.   
  • 26 days’ annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits. 
  • Private medical insurance and income protection.
National Security Vetting Process
Employment in this role will be subject to the National Security Vetting clearance process (and typically can take between 6 to 12 weeks post offer) and the passing of additional Bank security checks in accordance with the Bank policy.  Further information regarding the vetting and security clearance requirements for the role will be provided to the successful applicant, and information about how the Bank processes personal data for these purposes, is set out in the Bank's Privacy Notice.
