The Validation Lab Associate is a multifaceted role within quality control of reagents manufactured for use in immunohistochemistry (IHC), lateral flow assays (LFA), flow cytometry, and western blot/immunoprecipitation (WB/IP). This position will contribute to the execution of Fortis’ antibody development and validation processes through various immunoassays. The position supports various stages of lateral flow test strip manufacturing and testing. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and willing to develop new processes where they do not exist. What You Will Do
- Perform R&D and QC experiments for Immunohistochemistry, Lateral Flow Assay, Western blot and immunoprecipitation, Flow Cytometry to support antibody development and validation pipelines.
- Use standard lab equipment (e.g. pipettes, centrifuges, pH meter, nanodrop, and scale) to perform lab duties associated with validation and QC.
- Adhere to approved methods and perform procedures according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and/or work instructions (WIs).
- Meticulously document activities and data in accordance with QA/QC standards and be accountable for scientific findings.
- Aid in maintaining general lab supplies and specific reagent inventory to enable efficient and productive workflows.
- Assist in conducting stability and activity studies for products used in IHC, lateral flow assays, WB/IP, and/or flow cytometry.
- Assist with managing daily workflow regarding validation and QC.
- Support daily tasks associated with validation of new and existing products.
- Assist with troubleshooting abnormalities, problems, and inefficiencies.
- Assist with experiments for product stability studies.
- Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Educational and experiential background:
- Associate degree or higher in relevant scientific field—biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or immunology.
- 2+ years' experience in a related role.
- Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office365.
