Reporting to the Director, Resource Services, the Senior Project Coordinator (Coordinator) is responsible for the production of quality, culturally appropriate/relevant resources and support materials (in all official languages (as required)) to enable the department to effectively deliver its services to students, the Public, and other internal and external audiences. The incumbent oversees all stages of resource production from design and development to distribution and evaluation, to support departmental services for students, the public, and other stakeholders. As a subject matter expert, the Coordinator provides strategic guidance to departmental staff in creating materials that align with organizational goals and enhancing service effectiveness.
Responsibilities
The Coordinator ensures departmental compliance with key legislative and policy frameworks, including the Education Act, Curriculum Renewal Plan, Education Program Content Development Directive, copyright requirements, and other relevant directives and agreements. The incumbent will support the implementation of the Department’s Project Management Process Administrative Directive and actively participates in committees such as the Student Achievement Committee and Health-Education Working Group, as required. All services and supports provided by the Coordinator must reflect and align with Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) principles, ensuring cultural relevance and responsiveness.
Qualifications
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized college diploma in Media Studies, Business, Graphic Design/Desktop Publishing or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in media/publishing, program/resource development and implementation including 1 year of supervisory experience. Previous work experience in the education sector would be considered an asset
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
