Position summary: The player assistant is one of the most visible employees of the facility. This position is tasked with directing the flow of traffic on the course, enforcing facility rules, assisting members and guests with course etiquette, alerting golf shop staff to any golf course issues, promoting the facility and its events, and assisting players with any on-course problems. Due to the nature of the position, the ranger/ambassador must be pleasant but firm at the same time.

- Payrate: $16/hour

The Player Assistant job duties include but are not limited to:
- Keep players on pace-of-play schedule and report any problems to golf shop
- Be the on-course customer service specialist for the facility
- Promote the facility programs, events, and image to the membership
- Exhibit welcoming “first contact” with members. Seek ways to create an enjoyable experience moment for golfers during their round
- Check with golf shop and be aware of all unusual or special instructions, such as cart path only, etc.
- Be in possession of the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift
- Make sure all equipment; cart, radio, water stations, etc. are working correctly
- Accurate record keeping of the number of players daily
- Communicate with the golf shop on a regular basis (25-30 minutes), even if there is nothing to report
- Assist members and guests with any on-course problems – alert appropriate supervisor if necessary
- Move around the course in reverse order, hole 18 back to hole 1, repeat
- Enforce facility rules and regulations
- Assist in keeping course clean of debris as you move around the course. Call attention to golf shop of any maintenance issues that need addressing
- Be prepared for inclement weather and understand necessary procedures when siren sounds
- Assist other outside staff as needed
- The position may perform additional duties as needed/required
