Position Overview
The Educator Learning Product Owner oversees the development and implementation of STEM professional learning products and services for educators and adults and ensures that they meet the needs of learners from low-income and historically marginalized communities. This role manages contractors, leads the educator learning product lifecycle, and coordinates a cross-functional team to build products and services aligned to STEM learning. The role works closely with counterparts from R&D, product marketing, partnership success, and operations to ensure products are continually improving and responsive to learner needs. This exempt role reports to the Senior Director of Learning Products.
Responsibilities
- Product Ownership
- Own and manage the product backlog for assigned educator-focused learning products
- Translate educator and institutional needs into clear product requirements and user stories
- Define success criteria and monitor key performance indicators related to educator adoption, satisfaction, and instructional impact
- Educator-Centered Design
- Serve as the voice of educators in product development, gathering insights through interviews, surveys, pilots, and analytics
- Collaborate with R&D, instructional designers and partnership managers to ensure solutions are routed in evidence-based teaching practices
- Ensure all products meet accessibility, inclusivity, and usability standards for diverse educator populations
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with R&D, partner success, marketing, and operations teams across the organization to deliver features on time and within scope
- Work closely with academic leaders, professional development teams, and administrators to align product features with curriculum goals and teaching objectives
- Support training, onboarding, and adoption strategies to maximize product value
- Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and evaluate product performance and educator feedback to inform iterative improvements
- Stay informed on industry trends in educator professional development, instructional technology, and learning sciences
- Recommend enhancements that better balance educator needs, learner impact, and scalability
Requirements and Skills
- 3-6 years of experience in learning design, teacher professional development, learning technology and/or project management, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum design, and teaching methodologies
- Experience with product development and backlog management tools (Asana, Trello, etc.) to learning initiatives
- Ability to translate educator feedback and data into actionable product improvements.
- Excellent communication skills across diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Learning Sciences, Instructional Technology, or related experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- Schedule includes weekend and evening work as programmatic and organizational business needs require.
- This is an on-site role with the possibility of flexibility for working some days at an alternative work location. Flexibility will vary depending on the needs of the job.
