HOURLY RATE: Up to $25.64

SUMMARY
Elder Abuse Enhanced Multidisciplinary Teams (E-MDTs) bring together professionals from various disciplines to review cases of elder abuse and coordinate multidisciplinary approaches for intervention responses for each case. Lifespan oversees the implementation of the E-MDT Project across NYS. The E-MDT Special Project Coordinator will support statewide uniformity, facilitate communication among statewide departments and organizations representing disciplines on the E-MDTs, help the hubs keep abreast of local and national MDT practices and trend, and act as a liaison with national organizations and other similar projects to monitor developments in the field that could advance the Statewide E-MDT Initiative. The position will require an individual with solid leadership, public speaking, organizational and clinical skills as well as an ability to think critically and adapt communication styles for different audiences orally and in writing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.0 Program Operations
- Communicate with state departments, statewide organizations, and other relevant systems and organizations regarding the E-MDT initiative, implementation activities, barriers, and the need for collaboration and participation on county E-MDTs.
- Provide informal leadership to support the reactivation and/or establishment of teams in the Finger Lakes Region.
- Convene the annual E-MDT Statewide Conference and/or localized Mini-Summits and regional trainings.
- Facilitate virtual E-MDT discipline-specific PLGs among statewide professionals representing disciplines and systems on the E-MDTs
- Create and maintain email distribution lists to disseminate information about the E-MDT Initiative and serve as a resource for E-MDT-related materials and training modules.
- Provide a forum for E-MDT members and stakeholders to communicate with each other about issues and topics of mutual interest.
- Support program evaluation efforts of the project’s effectiveness in reducing and eliminating elder mistreatment for victims served by E-MDTs and amelioration of risk factors for continued mistreatment in individual cases.
- Provide information about the operation of the Initiative statewide and its effectiveness at addressing elder mistreatment to elder justice groups such as the NYS Coalition on Elder Abuse, and other statewide, regional, and county-level events, as appropriate.
- Participate in local E-MDT meetings, as appropriate.
- Present in-person or virtually, to professionals and other stakeholders.
- Interacts and networks with E-MDT member agencies and organizations to identify needs and provide education.
- Possible expansion of role to include limited coordination of Finger Lakes E-MDT.
- Participates in Lifespan and UpEAC staff meetings and trainings.
- Adheres to agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Social Work.
EXPERIENCE: Two years experience working directly with older adults, preferred. Experience as an E-MDT Coordinator, preferred.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
· At least half of work is performed at a desk or at a personal computer station.
· Ability to travel throughout NYS.
· Ability to stand for at least one hour at a time during presentations.
· Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills are required.
· Public speaking is required.
· Comfort with virtual collaboration and ability to build and maintain relationships remotely.
· Ability to maintain composure under strict deadlines.
· Ability to work in multi-cultural situations.
