Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Sponsorship Specialist plays a critical role in building and executing on Nicola Wealth’s national sponsorship strategy. This position is responsible for the execution of high-impact sponsorships and branded activations that enhance brand visibility, deepen community and industry relationships, and support business growth.
Working cross-functionally with stakeholders across Marketing, Advisory Services, and Events, this role will contribute to strategic sponsorship initiatives from annual sponsorship strategy development, ideation by specific brand sponsorship through execution and measurement—ensuring alignment with corporate goals and market positioning. The Senior Specialist also serves as a thought leader and mentor within the sponsorship and events team, contributing to the evolution of Nicola Wealth’s brand presence in key markets.
Core Responsibilities:
- Strategy Planning & Execution – Support the development of the annual Nicola Wealth national sponsorship strategy, and own the end-to-end execution aligned with brand and marketing objectives, with clear goals, budgets, timelines and KPI’s
- Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment - Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that sponsorship initiatives are integrated across departments (e.g., Advisory Services, Marketing, Community Engagement).
- Activation Design Input - Collaborate with Marketing leaders on the creative development of sponsorship activations, branded experiences, and event integrations—ensuring exceptional quality, innovation, and consistency with brand standards.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting - Implement robust measurement frameworks to assess sponsorship ROI, brand impact, and audience engagement. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Budget Management - Manage sponsorship budgets with a focus on cost efficiency, accurate forecasting, and timely reconciliation. Make data-informed investment recommendations.
- Vendor & Partner Relationships - Coordinate third-party vendor relationships, ensuring delivery excellence, compliance, and value.
- The Marketing team utilizes an omnichannel approach – you may be asked to support in any Marketing discipline as the need arises.
- Other relevant and related responsibilities, as assigned and as the needs of the organization change.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in brand marketing/sponsorships, experiential marketing, or corporate events (preferable in financial services, luxury or lifestyle brands).
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CMP, experiential marketing) are an asset.
- Demonstrated success in executing sponsorship strategy at a national level.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills; experience working cross-functionally with senior leadership.
- Proven track record of measuring and reporting on ROI for sponsorships and experiential campaigns.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience managing and mentoring team members or vendors.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work flexible hours as required by event schedules.
- Hybrid, but expectation is 3 days in office.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.
Compensation & Benefits Package:
This position comes with a base salary range of $75,000 - $100,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
