The FSQA Supervisor is responsible for the daily execution, floor management, and technician development in alignment with food safety and quality standards. This role ensures all operational FSQA tasks are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and SQF requirements.

Requirements

What You’ll Do:

Team Management & Development

  • Schedule, train, and manage FSQA Technicians.
  • Conduct annual observations and ongoing coaching to build technician capability in documentation, GMP auditing, and floor presence.
  • Conduct time studies to align responsibilities with available capacity.
  • Serve as a visible, hands-on leader for direct reports and colleagues, modeling Arcadia’s values and expectations.
  • Develop and mentor direct reports.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning within your team.
  • Provide clear goals, feedback, and coaching to individuals and teams; conduct regular performance conversations and support development plans.
  • Partner with HR on staffing needs, role clarity, succession planning, and engagement efforts within the team.
  • Encourage cross-training and capability building across teams to increase resilience and collaboration.

Daily Quality Leadership Of Operations

  • Perform daily GMP audits and pre-operational inspections.
  • Ensure real-time FSQA technician responsiveness to floor issues and accurate documentation.
  • Oversee sanitation verification and real-time corrective actions.
  • Act as the primary liaison between FSQA and Production during shifts, ensuring clear communication of quality expectations and timely issue resolution.
  • Lead shift-level quality huddles and proactively escalate concerns to FSQA Manager or Operations leaders as needed.
  • Lead initial root cause investigation for quality or food safety deviations identified on shift, partnering with David on escalation and formal corrective action.
  • Maintain real-time logs of quality deviations and near-misses for trend analysis and learning.
  • Reinforce food safety culture and GMP behaviors on the floor through active presence, micro-coaching, and team recognition.

Lab & Equipment Management

  • Maintain FSQA lab equipment and ensure backups are in place.
  • Manage lab inventory, ordering processes, and equipment calibration.
  • Implement lab proficiency programs and maintain documentation per FDA expectations.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Lead daily/weekly/monthly documentation reviews.
  • Train technicians on proper documentation practices and record retention protocols.

FSQA Programs & RedZone Systems

  • Maintain and revise FSQA programs and SOPs (excluding sanitation).
  • Lead input and accuracy in RedZone for quality data tracking.
  • Reinforce 5S principles in lab and retain areas.

SQF Program Execution

  • Support execution of annual SQF training calendar.
  • Assist in SQF audit prep, documentation accuracy, and program updates.
  • Facilitate monthly SQF meetings and management Gemba walks.
  • Lead or contribute to incident response for food safety or quality events, including mock recall exercises, root cause analysis, and regulatory response coordination.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the FSQA team liaison to production and commercialization.
  • Communicate product readiness, open items, and quality concerns to David and the broader FSQA team.
