If so, we invite you to explore this opportunity with Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center. We are currently hiring a Veterinary Assistant for our Resuscitation and Critical Care (RACC) team, where you’ll play an integral role in supporting emergency and specialty care.

About You:

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant who is already skilled in handling and restraint, is comfortable with basic surgery prep and supporting Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in a clinical setting and brings knowledge of anatomy, veterinary terminology, and disease processes.
Experience with EzyVet and Smartflow are an additional plus but not required. We highly value collaboration from all staff members, so please speak up as your input is not only valued but can make a difference.
Anticipated Schedule:
This is a Full-Time position:
Sunday through Wednesday - 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
Compensation:
$19.00 – $21.50/hour (based on experience)

Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an Emergency or Specialty veterinary practice, or 2+ years in a Primary Care setting.
- Proficient in obtaining TPR, blood pressure, PCV/TS, SpO2, and other vitals.
- CPR experience: RECOVER CPR Certification strongly preferred.
- Medical math skills
- Experience in emergency/specialty medicine highly valued, but strong primary care candidates will be considered.
- Knowledge of anatomy, terminology, and common disease processes in dogs and cats.
- Knowledge of clinical procedures, laboratory sample handling, and use of veterinary instruments and equipment.
- Familiarity with sterile and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to follow standardized treatment protocols and provide efficient “tableside” assistance.
- Commitment to high standards of patient and client service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
