Job Title: Production Technician
Department: Public Experience & Desk Service
Supervisor: Production Lead
Starting Pay: $21.26/hr

Hours: Part-Time, minimum of 15 hours per week and maximum of 20 hours per week

Closing: at 8:00 pm on September 16, 2025
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Production Lead, the Production Technician provides support for technology-intensive live events held by the Library in addition to assisting with the production of content in pursuit of AADL’s strategic goals and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties as assigned:
- Communicates with event and content producers to determine needs of technically complex events; works to ensure a successful, professional experience for our audience.
- Sets up and configures mobile audio, video, staging, and seating systems.
- Troubleshooting and monitoring presentation and/or recording equipment.
- Accommodates last minute changes based on the needs of assigned productions.
- Records audio and video for live and studio based AADL productions.
- Performs post-production of recorded and archival content.
- Assists in maintaining files and digital databases to be used in Library publications and promotions.
- Works with Production and IT staff members to maintain and update AADL’s event and production equipment.
- Maintains a prompt and reliable attendance record.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications include:
- Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to two years of experience providing direct customer service; strong public service commitment and positive attitude.
- Familiarity with production hardware and software - including live audio mixing and video post-production.
- Basic understanding of networking and directory structures.
- Proven ability to develop customer relationships.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Familiarity with web-based video conferencing and streaming technologies (YouTube, Zoom, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on regular email communication.
- Ability to work in stressful, one-on-one situations, often involving a demanding public in a busy urban setting.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as being a high functioning part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Successful experience providing direct customer service in a public library setting.
- Significant knowledge about professional A/V production and photography.
- Knowledge of array and cloud-based data storage.
- Content portfolio available for review.
