LOCATION: Swainsboro, GA
The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia's Emanuel County Outpatient program is seeking a qualified individual to serve as our next Counselor. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling intake assessments related to delivery of mental health care to assigned clients at the designated site and will provide resources to patients for their individual needs.
Responsibilities of the Counselor:
- Provide direct mental health services to include intake assessments, individual/family, group therapy and crisis intervention to assigned clients
- Maintain regular contact with clients, as needed
- Complete individualized treatment plans, treatment plan updates, behavior assessment updates, and safety plans
- Ensure consumers go to scheduled MD appointments
- Complete case management including but not limited to: being aware of managed care authorizations, current insurance statuses, and other chart compliances
- Complete the following assessments: Child & Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) &/or Adults Needs and Strengths (ANSA), Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSR), Crisis Safety plans, and other required assessments
- Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and clinical supervision
- Other duties as assigned
Here are some of the things we require:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of psychology, social work, counseling education, human services or a related field of study and actively be enrolled in a master’s degree program that is license eligible
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Office Products
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines accordingly
Here’s what would put you over the top:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of psychology, social work, counseling education, human services or a related field of study
- Active Georgia license to provide mental health services (LPC, LAPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)
