We are seeking an experienced Fixed Income Analyst to join our investment team. This role combines portfolio management support, quantitative analysis, and strategic thinking to help advance our investment process and will report to the Head of Fixed Income Investments. 

The ideal candidate will bring both investment acumen and technical expertise to assist in the growth of our fixed income investment division. This person will possess fixed income market experience, excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail as well as solid verbal and written communication skills. The primary responsibilities of this role span multiple elements of the fixed income investment department including portfolio management, analysis, trading and research.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are generally representative of the nature and level of work assigned. They are not necessarily all inclusive.

Portfolio Management & Analysis

  • Analyze fixed income markets and work with PMs to develop and implement investment strategies
  • Monitor and maintain portfolio positioning, including duration targets, cash flows, and sector allocations
  • Conduct thorough issuer research and credit analysis across various sectors
  • Create and monitor performance attribution and risk/analytics reports for models and portfolios

Quantitative & Technical

  • Monitor and analyze market factors affecting portfolio decisions
  • Perform backtesting and scenario analysis
  • Apply quantitative methodologies to enhance portfolio performance
  • Support integration of new technical solutions and maintain infrastructure to support investment processes

Trading & Operations

  • Support fixed income trading in response to investment strategy changes, cash flows, and market movements
  • Monitor daily cash balances and portfolio targets
  • Ensure compliance with investment guidelines and restrictions
  • Support settlement and pricing functions

Research & Communication

  • Prepare quarterly reporting and performance attribution analysis
  • Assist in writing market commentaries and investment updates
  • Work with sales team on portfolio-related inquiries
  • Participate in Investment Policy Committee and Investment Committee

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in fixed income markets including government, corporate, and municipal securities
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
  • CFA designation or progress toward completion preferred
  • Analytical capabilities with strong mathematical and quantitative skills
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg and FactSet 
  • Knowledge of risk forecast models and attribution analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

This position offers development potential into a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager role across taxable and/or municipal strategies.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This person must be able to exchange accurate information when working with others, think critically and act logically to evaluate situations, solve problems, and make sound decisions. He/she must be able to work at a desk operating a computer and other office equipment at least 90 percent of the time, as well as move about the facility to meet with people and access files, other information, operate office machinery, etc.
