American Heritage Schools Palm Beach Campus is currently seeking a Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach. This position is a seasonal stipend position with the potential for a full-time teaching position for certified candidates.
The Head Varsity coach should have the desire and skills necessary to lead student athletes through their years of athletic competition at American Heritage and on to the collegiate level. Their focus should be on character development and fostering an appreciation for good sportsmanship and teamwork. This person should be of high character to include interacting respectfully with student athletes, staff, parents and the community.
The Head Varsity Coach works under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director. The Coach is hired and expected to provide the necessary leadership and to plan, organize, and be responsible for a comprehensive interscholastic athletic program, and to carry out the objectives of the total school athletic program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OR REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Will be expected to complete CPR, Child Abuse, Cybersecurity, and ADVERT certification trainings provided by the school
Completion of required NFHS coaching certifications each year
Knowledge of NFHS and FHSAA rules.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, opponents, staff, parents and students.
Expected to schedule games and practices for the program as a whole.
Responsible for overseeing the Junior High and Junior Varsity programs if they exist to include scheduling games and practice schedules for each.
Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect and good sportsmanship.
Ability to supervise, organize, and motivate a coaching staff at all levels
Use a variety of instructional techniques to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes.
Maintain and secure all equipment and uniforms.
Build and foster an inclusive, positive culture that promotes sustainable success.
Determine game strategy based on the team's capabilities.
Instill sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation at all times.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or other appropriate administrator.
Able to work in a wide variety of temperatures and weather conditions including extreme temperature conditions outdoor
This position is not eligible for benefits due to part-time status.
