Organization Role

This position will collaborate closely with the Senior Financial Analyst, finance leadership, internal stakeholders and external consultants. The Financial Analyst plays a key role in advancing the success of the Finance & Accounting department and ASTM by delivering strategic insights, producing accurate financial reports and analysis, and offering data-driven recommendations that support the organization's financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning, Reporting & Data Analytics
  • · Prepares and presents clear and actionable financial data to help inform business decisions.
  • · Assists in preparing routine and ad hoc financial reports as needed to support business operations and strategies.
  • · Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather, consolidate, and synthesize data from multiple sources.
  • · Leverages ASTM’s budgeting and forecasting tool, Planful, to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis cycles.
  • · Works with department leaders to support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant data and preparing initial drafts of analysis.

Other ASTM Legal Entity & Affiliate Management

  • · Monitors financial activities of selected ASTM affiliates
  • · Supports month-end close activities for ASTM’s domestic and international affiliates, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting tasks.
  • · Assists with the consolidation of financial results across international entities to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

Other Responsibilities

  • · Assists with external audit requests by gathering financial data, supporting revenue analysis, and ensuring proper documentation.
  • · Helps prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and related disclosures.
  • · Participates in process and system improvement initiatives by performing basic data analysis, helping identify inefficiencies, and supporting troubleshooting activities.
  • · Provides support during the implementation of new financial systems, including testing, documentation, and end-user assistance.
  • · Assists with user training and support for financial tools and systems; serves as a point of contact for internal questions and system navigation guidance.
  • · Supports accounting staff and other ASTM employees in using Finance & Accounting-related systems, helping resolve routine issues and escalating more complex ones as needed.
  • · Other responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; AND 3-5 years of related finance and accounting experience listed below
  • · Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including use of functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, IF statements), pivot tables, conditional formatting, data sorting/filtering, and visualizations using charts and graphs.
  • · Progressive experience in data analysis.
  • · Progressive accounting experience with an ERP or comparable computer-based accounting platform
  • · Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • · Thorough understanding of accounting principles, rules, terminology, guidelines, and standards.
  • · Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • · Effective problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
  • · Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage processes accurately, and adhere to company and departmental policies.
  • · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a proactive mindset, eagerness to learn, openness to growth, and a continuous improvement orientation.
  • · Versatile and objective approach to handling diverse accounting responsibilities.
