About This Opportunity 

The career development team is looking for current UQ students to join our team as Casual Student Employability Ambassadors. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver career development events and services for your peers. You will assist with planning, facilitating, and promoting key events throughout the year, including Employability Week across the St Lucia, Herston, and Gatton campuses from 9 - 12 March 2026 and our popular Cuppa and Careers series.

Play a key part in the team, from coordinating event logistics to leading registration desks and engaging with both students and industry professionals. You will also have the chance to review educational content, co-lead our Job Seeker Squad series, and create engaging social media content. This is a chance to use your skills to make a real impact on student employability.

Please note;

  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an in-person Assessment Centre on the St Lucia campus on Tuesday, 30 September 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The specific venue will be communicated to shortlisted candidates one week prior to the assessment.

  • Candidates must be available for a range of shifts during Employability Week, which runs from 9 - 12 March, 2026. Training for the role will be provided in late January 2026.

About You  

  • You must be a currently UQ student enrolled for 2026 and available to work the week of 9–12 March, 2026.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with, and build rapport among, a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, industry partners, and staff.

  • Strong administrative, time management, and project management skills with a high level of attention to detail to effectively prioritise tasks.

  • Demonstrated engagement in, or access to, extra-curricular employability activities and supports, such as workshops, events, or online resources.

You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
