This position is open on all 3 shifts

Entity: ARaymond Manufacturing Center North America Location: Logansport, Indiana

About the job

Lead and coordinates activities of Assembly operators. Performs simple setups and operates equipment for sorting, assemblies and rework of parts. 

 

Roles and responsibilities

  • Conduct shift kick-off meeting.
  • Assure the safety & well-being of employees.
  • Direct work within the cell. 
  • Provide employee training & maintain appropriate training documentation.
  • Address complaints, resolve problems & escalate as appropriate.
  • Resolve quality issues, administer the manufacturing reaction plan & MRD material as needed. 
  • Responsible for cell productivity & housekeeping.
  • Stock cell with parts and perform minor adjustments to machines. 
  • Operate fork truck & packing equipment.
  • Report performance of operators & production through business systems. 
  • Obtain workers for overtime and update overtime list. 
  • Accountable and responsible for enforcing EH&S policies. This position is the first contact for employees. 
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

 

Education and experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Skills

  • Ability to work & lead independently.
  • Proficient in SAP.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups. 
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurements, volume, and distance. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

 

 

 

 

Physical Demands

  • Physical Requirements:
    In the course of performing this job, the employee is routinely required to stand, speak, and listen. Frequent activities include walking and using hands for tasks such as handling, feeling, or manipulating objects. Occasionally, the employee may need to sit, reach with arms and hands, or engage in movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The role also involves regularly lifting and/or moving items up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving items exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment:
    While carrying out job duties, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Occasional exposure may occur to moving mechanical parts, minimal contact with hazardous materials, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
