For this position, we anticipate an annual salary between $75,000 and $100,000. Final employment offers will be dependent upon the selected candidate’s relevant qualifications and experience.
JOB SUMMARY
Prepare financial statements and reports. Conducts research and analysis to provide management throughout the company with definitive financial data.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting
- Prepares various GL entries/analysis to close monthly financial statements to include subsidiary companies
- Prepares various Regulatory Reports:
- Call reports for Bank Charters
- Call reports for Holding Company – SBNA
- Call reports for Trust Preferred Trusts
- Prepare quarterly consolidation for SFSI and all subsidiary companies
- Prepares various internal management financial reports:
- Profit Center reporting and analysis.
- Cost of Funds Allocation
- Assist with reviewing and maintaining general ledger account setup
- Prepares and assist Controller/Assistant Controller in preparing year-end financial statements for consolidated company:
- Assists in preparing year-end financial statements for consolidated company
- Assists in preparing data tables for year-end financial statement footnotes
Financial Analysis and General Ledger
- Completes various financial analyses for CFO and Controller.
- Responsible for reconciliation of various general ledger accounts and bank-controlled deposit accounts and reviewing reconciliations prepared by others.
- Maintains accrual calculation for Audit, Tax and Accounting, OCC, and FDIC premiums.
- Coordinate information gathering for external auditors related to annual audit and quarterly tax estimates:
- Publish audit and tax planning letters internally and monitor collection of information
- Upload information to auditors as requested. Assist in research as needed
- Coordinate customer and non-customer confirmation process
Investment Securities
- Assist personal with collateral needs for public entities.
- Pledges collateral and tracks collateral pledged on deposits (backup).
- Records purchase & sales of transaction and maintains file documentation (backup)
Other
- Schedules state income tax payments and assists in researching State income tax inquiries.
- File various state filings as needed (Secretary of State, Personal Property Tax, Business Registrations)
- Monitor internal Bank owned accounts
- Back-up for ALM modeling as needed
- Assist other subsidiary companies as needed (i.e. integration, financial close, etc)
- Performs other tasks requested by CFO and Controller as they relate to the bank and its functions.
- Complete all required training.
- Maintain a solid understanding of all legal and regulatory compliance issues as they pertain to this position.
- Loss prevention and security as applicable for this position.
REQUIREMENTS
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, twist, bend, sit, walk, use hands to twist, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, such as computer mouse, computer keyboard, calculator, stapler, telephone, staple puller, etc., reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient on Microsoft Excel and Word software.
- Strong oral/written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and enjoy working with numbers.
- Flexible.
- Excellent time management skills.
