Island Health is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for an experienced Acute Care Registered Nurse for our Day Shift at our hospital in Anacortes, WA.

Work Schedule:

  • 0.9 or 36 hours per week,
  • (3) 12 hour shift
  • Day shift


Salary Range: $36.90 - $69.95

  • $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible candidates
  • Night Differential - $4.75
  • Evening Differential - $3.25
  • Weekend Differential - $4.00
  • BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour
  • Certification premium - $1.00/hour

Acute Care Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities:

  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing standards.
  • Utilizes 5 step nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide service needed for patient care.
  • Participates in communication and problem solving with patient/significant other, health team members and their departments.
  • Assesses knowledge level of patient/significant other, participates with patient/significant other in goal development to meet needs. Develops teaching plan and evaluates outcome.
  • Documents appropriate components of the nursing process according to established standards.
  • Assesses own learning needs and establishes priorities and develops action plan.
  • Enters patient data into computer.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
  • Understands and supports principles of case management.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current WA State RN License
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Minimum of one year experience of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting (preferred)
