You will be the main finance contact for the central accounting and controls team onshore, and a trusted expert to the local Executive Management team. As such, this role involves providing financial support, commercial insight and healthy challenge, to assist with our exciting growth plans.
Reporting directly to local Executive management and being part of the global Finance team, the successful candidate will explore opportunities for top-line growth, margin, and cash flow optimisation.
About the role
- Responsible for timely reporting to and delivery of financial data requests for North American senior management
- Ensuring P&L and cash flows are optimized, including margin enhancement and providing input into local growth strategies including exploring opportunities across brokers/States/clients. All proposals to be supported by robust business cases and sound financial projections
- Providing KPI insights to the CFC Group and collaborating with Group Revenue and Actuarial teams
- Contribution to the annual budget exercise and other forecasting requirements (monthly re-forecasting and long-term plan tracking), liaising with internal stakeholders
- Supporting the central accounts function to close the CFC USA and CFC Canada accounting records on an accurate, complete and timely basis each month, ensuring local insight is included to the process especially in respect of accruals and prepayments
- Supporting the central controls function to establish an Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework for the CFC USA and CFC Canada businesses, including supporting and updating local process documentation, identification of key risks and mitigating controls and supporting monthly internal control framework reporting
- Ensuring that all Group finance policies are adhered to and provide reporting to the central accounts team as required
- Acting as the main contact for the Group Finance function on any financial matter related to CFC USA and CFC Canada, including any IBA and Tax related matters
- Act as the main contact for all staff in North America for financial queries or concerns and act as a point of contact for Group Finance on the ground for such queries
- Work with the Group Procurement function on supplier optimization and maximizing expense saving opportunities on 3rd party costs
About you
We'd expect you to have advanced financial-modelling experience (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement modelling), strong analytical skills and be comfortable working with large datasets.
You'll definitely be motivated by meeting tight deadlines with high standards, and enjoy change and challenge. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must, as you'll interact regularly with executive-level management and non-financial managers. You'll be the first Finance hire in North America, working as part of an international team in a rapidly growing company, so while your day to day will require some self-direction and autonomy, being a team player is crucial.
Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software and planning tools is advantageous, and expertise in Power BI is highly welcomed.
