Summary:
The full-time faculty member will be responsible for providing high quality instruction in the Associate's in Applied Science Radiography Program. This position will primarily serve as the Radiography Program Clinical Coordinator. Responsibilities will include coordination of all aspects of clinical education at all clinical affiliates participating with the Radiography Program. Duties will also include teaching within the Radiography Program, developing curriculum, and developing materials for improved assessment of Radiography students in didactic and clinical applications. Clinical Coordinator duties also include working to establish new relationships with new clinical partners.
Position Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include the following but other duties may be assigned)
Clinical Coordination Specific duties:
- Maintain regular contact with all Clinical Preceptors
- Perform weekly visits to clinical partners on a scheduled basis
- Monitor student compliance with immunizations and CPR requirements
- Work with the Program Director to improve clinical education processes
- Update changes to Clinical Preceptors, Department Directors, and contact personnel at clinical affiliates
- Monitor student work within clinical courses to assess and use for development of the clinical grade
- Track student hours performed at clinical affiliates and work with students and partners to ensure that mandatory hours are performed
- Work with the Program Director, Clinical Partners, and Students to solve problems and issues related to clinical performance
- Work with the Program Director to meet all requirements of JRCERT accreditation
- Work with the Program Director to plan and perform activities related to JRCERT accreditation site visits
- Manage all activities related to Radiography Program clinical performance in coordination with the Radiography Program Director
Planning
- Participates in department and academic program and curriculum development activities
- Develops plans that promote the development of higher order thinking skills in the instructional process
- Develops and maintains course outlines which are reviewed annually
Instruction
- Provides motivation to learn via thorough planning; enthusiasm for subject matter; appropriate climate for learning within the classroom; relevant and current course content; understanding of individual differences and learning styles
- Facilitates and paces instruction to maximize learning
- Assesses learning frequently using various methods, such as questioning techniques; oral and/or written quizzes; student presentations; writing assignments; self-determined assessment instruments
- Provides remediation as deemed appropriate and possible
- Develops and administers exams consistent with learning goals
- Develops course syllabi for each course taught which:
- conveys the goals and outcomes of the course
- reflects curriculum adopted by the academic area and/or program for course
- establishes and communicates challenging expectations for students
- explains the relationship of those expectations to the grading and assessment process
General Responsibilities
- Responds to requests of academic area and/or faculty leads, department chairs, committee chairs, records office, etc. in a timely and thorough manner
- Consistently meets instructional schedule and other assignments and commitments in support of the college
- Establishes and maintains regular and appropriate office hours

- Attends annual Commencement

- Formally documents learning assessment efforts in a timely manner

- Upholds and enforces the student code of conduct
- Lead faculty for assigned courses
- Ensures syllabi are provided to the Dean’s Office each semester

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Position Requirements and Preferences:
- Baccalaureate Degree Required
- Registered Radiographer (R.T.(R) – ARRT
- Minimum of five years of experience as a Registered Radiographer in a hospital setting.
- Minimum of five years experience working in a facility with Radiography students(Preferred)
- Experience as a Radiography educator or clinical preceptor preferred
- Experience teaching in a JRCERT accredited Radiography Program for two years minimum strongly preferred
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods including online strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Skilled in the use of email and electronic calendars
- Experience and/or interest in creating simulation exercises for students
- Background knowledge of classroom and clinical student assessment
- Committed to working in a team environment that serves diverse groups and maintains the college’s philosophy
- Use of technology to support learning and other innovative teaching strategies
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
