Position Summary: The Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving sales performance, coaching branch employees, and supporting managers in delivering exceptional member experiences. Working day-to-day in the branch, this individual partners directly with Member Advisors, observing, coaching, and providing real-time feedback, tips, and encouragement.

This role combines the skills of a sales leader, coach, and consultant — bringing expertise in the sales process, financial solutions, and soft skills such as listening and relationship building. The Sales Manager guides with expertise and empathy, serving as a trusted, approachable resource for employees and managers while fostering a welcoming, motivating environment that supports sales growth and member satisfaction.

Schedule: Approximately 40 hours within a Monday through Friday work week.

Work Location: Southeast Idaho, Twin Falls, or Boise

Key Responsibilities

  • Work side by side with branch employees to observe sales interactions and provide coaching, feedback, and reinforcement of best practices.
  • Partner with branch managers to share insights, feedback, and strategies for strengthening sales performance and member engagement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the sales process, providing practical tools, techniques, and tips for success.
  • Support employees in building confidence and consistency in identifying member needs and recommending appropriate financial solutions.
  • Encourage and model relationship-based selling, ensuring member needs are the focus of every interaction.
  • Track sales performance trends and collaborate with managers to create action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Deliver training sessions, role-plays, and one-on-one coaching as needed.
  • Provide constructive feedback in a supportive and motivating manner, maintaining accountability while encouraging growth.
  • Act as a resource for managers, offering perspective and consultation on sales strategies, employee development, and member service approaches.
  • Represent Westmark’s culture and values, reinforcing consistency across branches.


Requirements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales management, coaching, or consulting, preferably within financial services, OR a high school diploma plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or a combination of formal education, training, and applicable experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the sales process and proven ability to drive results.
  • Familiarity with financial products and services, with the ability to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach employees of varying experience levels with professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt approaches to meet employee and member needs.
  • Track record of building strong, trust-based relationships across teams and with leaders.

Physical Requirements

  • Work primarily in branch locations with frequent standing, walking, and member interaction.
  • Regular use of computer systems, phones, and office equipment.
  • Ability to travel between branches and attend regional meetings or training sessions as needed.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
