Description
Position Summary: This is the perfect position for the person who values food equality for all. The Mobile Pantry Assistant will work with the Mobile Pantry Coordinator on loading, setting up, distributing, and cleaning up of mobile pantry services and daily operations. The Mobile Pantry goes to food deserts to ensure those in need have quality food available to them.
This is a Full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: $20.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of the Mobile Pantry Program Coordinator to assist with the following:
- Accompany the Mobile Coordinator on distribution routes to deliver pantry services at various locations
- Help load the mobile pantry vehicle, set up for distribution, help with distribution, clean up, and restock the mobile pantry
- Unload, sort, stock, and maintain necessary inventory
- Assist with setting up the mobile pantry, including putting food in the appropriate distribution areas
- Assist with traffic flow
- Help ensure that the warehouse storage area complies with safety regulations and the mobile pantry vehicle operates safely, including COVID-specific and food safety guidelines
- Drive the mobile pantry vehicle occasionally when needed
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Ensure proper stacking of cases and pallets to ensure the safety of others
- Practice proper food safety and inventory control

Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent credentials
Experience:
- Two years of work experience, preferably in food or a non-profit setting.
Other:
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License
- Have a clean motor vehicle driving record
- Enjoy working with a non-profit social service agency serving people
Physical Requirements:
- Lift, push, and carry cases ranging from 5 to 50 pounds in weight for a sustained time of up to 2 hours while stooping, twisting, lifting overhead, and bending repeatedly. (Agility test required and provided by JFS)
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to ascend in and out of the truck repeatedly
- Ability to withstand constant changes in temperatures during seasonal weather changes and to work outside for hours at a time during operations

- Ability to work independently with some guidance and direction
- Team player, able to interact and communicate clearly, patiently, and respectfully with volunteers, staff, clients, and donors.
