About the Department
Position Duties
- Implements and creates customer service training for staff, including providing tours of the City and Recreation Services Department.
- Conducts new hire department orientations and assists with the onboarding process. Supervises participants utilizing facilities, enforces policies and maintains order.
- Meets with public and handles complaints addresses customer concerns and inquiries from website and social media.
- Creates customer service manuals.
- Drafts policies/procedure as related to Recreation Services.
- Assists with department inquiries.
- Maintains records and prepares reports.
- Distributes center equipment, maintains accurate inventory records, and monitors usage within the facility.
- Assists with planning and organizing special events.
- Creates training material such as presentations, worksheets, manuals, and videos.
- Provides other job-related training opportunities for staff and volunteers.
- Tracks training compliance for both Recreation Services staff and city trainings.
- Plans and sets up training rooms.
- Performs related tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- The recreation/cultural arts fields
- The principles and practices of customer service training
- Basic cash accounting principles
- Computer software systems
- Public speaking and creating presentations
- Operating computerized systems
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, associates, and the general public
Other Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major course work in recreation administration, customer service, hospitality or related field.
- One (1) year of customer service experience.
- Previous employee training experience.
