Logistics Coordinator
Morrisville, NC
As our Logistics Coordinator, you will oversee international and domestic freight movement, ensure compliance with global trade regulations, and coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of global shipments, from documentation and customs clearance to performance reporting and process optimization. Ideally you possess deep knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and INCOTERMS, ensuring all shipments adhere to legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Your Contribution.
- Coordinate ocean, air, and ground shipments for both international and domestic freight.
- Manage import/export documentation and oversee customs clearance processes.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and apply INCOTERMS to all relevant shipping contracts and documentation.
- Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Monitor shipments, proactively resolve delays or issues, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with global trade regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, USMCA).
- Generate and analyze logistics performance reports to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across departments (procurement, sales, customer service, warehousing) to align logistics operations with business needs.
- Optimize logistics processes and negotiate contracts with freight and 3PL providers to achieve cost savings and efficiency.
Your Background.
- 3–5+ years of experience in logistics, with a focus on global distribution and 3PL management.
- Deep knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and INCOTERMS, with proven experience applying them in daily operations.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures and international shipping regulations.
- Proficient in ERP and TMS systems, as well as Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Preferred Certifications.
- CITP (Certified International Trade Professional)
- CCS (Certified Customs Specialist)
- APICS/CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) – a plus
