About the Department

Deliver paper and packages. Binding, tabbing, folding, inserting, labeling, bulk mailings, hand collating, confidential shredding, and various duties related to department functions.

***This position is only open to Student Workers***
*3 to 20 hours per week*

Position Duties

  1. Provide and maintain a high level of customer service by assisting faculty, staff, and students regarding mail/shipping/receiving, printing, photocopiers, supplies, work orders, etc.

  2. Sort mail.

  3. Back up for all mailing/shipping/receiving as needed, both incoming and outgoing.

  4. Log in all packages received by Mail and Print Services that have a tracking number.

  5. Reconcile cash drawers and balance daily receipts, prepare reconciliation and deposit.

  6. Alert supervisor of major errors.

  7. Cross-reference deliveries to the Purchase Order when needed, noting delivery, serial numbers, asset tags, etc. when needed.

  8. Distribute mail as needed.

  9. Make campus deliveries of mail, packages, duplicating orders and paper.

  10. Process mail forwarding and return to sender mail.

  11. Prepare forms as required by UPS, FedEx, and USPS.

  12. Receive and prioritize incoming calls to the bookstore and mail and print services.

  13. Assist caller, direct to appropriate person or take and relay messages.

  14. Assist as cashier for the bookstore.

  15. Assist with daily sales operation in the bookstore, includes keeping shelves and sales floor well stocked, maintained, and merchandised.

  16. Assist with end of term buyback.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be current degree-seeking student enrolled in at least 6 credits.
Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.

Must be eligible to receive FWS based on financial need and eligibility requirements determined by FAFSA. 

Students in this job will need the following skills. You should be able to do these, or show that you can learn how (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Excellent time management skill.
  • Level of computer literacy sufficient to use software such as work processing, spreadsheets, and databases to produce correspondence and documents.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality regarding all sensitive mail, paperwork, documents, tests, memos, etc.
