Essential Functions and Primary Duties
Present financial reports at the Board meetings and provide monthly financial reports to the School Sponsor.
Manage cash as an authorized bank account user and process accounts payable on the school’s behalf.
Record funds received by the school, make any necessary deposits (infrequent).
Reconcile cash accounts.
Monitor investment policies established by the Board.
Responsible for the School’s record keeping and accounting in its entirety.
Prepare required ODE reporting.
Complete EMIS sheet (OH schools only).
Respond to requests/questions from board, legal counsel, and sponsors.
Securing and setting up new clients/schools
Semi-Annual Activities
Budgets/budget revisions
Forecasts/forecast revisions
Federal Grant Audits
Annual Activities
Assist in the revision of policies
ODE Fiscal Data input
Prepare for annual audits/answer questions as needed
Final approval of annual 1099 submission
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
- 3 years supervisory experience
- Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
- Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
- Proficient use of applicable technology
