THE OPPPORTUNITY:
Are you an experienced operations professional with a strong background in wastewater systems management? The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is seeking a dedicated Operations Supervisor to lead the daily operations and maintenance of our treatment plants and facilities. In this leadership role, you will provide guidance, supervision, and technical expertise to a talented team of operators, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations in accordance with state and federal requirements. You will oversee staff development, optimize processes, monitor system performance, coordinate emergency responses, and support capital projects, while leveraging strong computer literacy to track key performance indicators, analyze data, and prepare reports. Assignment to the Chino Desalter requires the possession at time of hire or promotion, a California Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate T5 and California Water Distribution Plant Operator Certificate D3. A California Water Distribution Plant Operator Certificate D4 is highly desirable at time of application but successful completion of the D4 examination is required within two testing cycles.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to supervise, train, and motivate operations staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performance work culture.
- Strong knowledge of wastewater and water treatment processes, facility operations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Skilled at troubleshooting complex operational issues, responding to emergencies, and making sound, timely decisions under pressure.
- High computer literacy with the ability to analyze performance data, prepare reports, and use software tools to optimize plant operations.

About Us:
The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale distributor of imported water to approximately 950,000 people across 242-square miles in western San Bernardino County. Under the leadership of a directly elected five-member Board of Directors, the Agency is committed to supporting the needs of its service area and safeguarding public health through significant investments in a diverse water supply portfolio, reliable municipal/industrial wastewater collection and treatment services, and other related utility services in a regionally planned and cost-effective manner.
As a member agency of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan), IEUA provides supplemental water supplies, primarily via the State Water Project (SWP) for distribution among nine retail agencies. IEUA also replenishes local groundwater supplies with captured stormwater and recycled water produced by IEUA that is later extracted by local water agencies for use as a drinking water supply.
