Our team partners with the Army Applications Lab (AAL) to accelerate innovation, develop prototypes, and transition emerging technologies into mission-ready capabilities.


Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Program Manager (APM) to support our AAL programs. This role works closely with the Program Manager to oversee project execution, coordinate with Army stakeholders, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure compliance with DoD/Army standards. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments where innovation meets defense mission needs.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Support planning and execution of Army Applications Lab projects, including schedules, deliverables, risk management, and reporting.
  2. Coordinate across government, vendor, and internal technical teams to ensure milestones are met.
  3. Assist with budget tracking, contract deliverables, and invoice validation.
  4. Prepare presentations, reports, and decision materials for Army and corporate leadership.
  5. Maintain dashboards, trackers, and risk registers in project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or MS Project).
  6. Ensure compliance with security, acquisition, and cyber requirements (including supporting ATO processes).
  7. Contribute to transition planning for prototypes and hand-off to operational units.
     

Work Environment

  • Hybrid role: based in Austin, TX, with 2–3 in-office days per week.
  • Occasional travel (up to 15%) to Fort Cavazos (Killeen/Temple area) or other CONUS locations for demos, tests, and stakeholder meetings.

Requirements

 Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.  
  • 3–5 years of program/project management or relevant experience.  
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.  
  • Proficiency with MS Project or similar scheduling tools; experience with Jira, Confluence, or DevOps platforms.  
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (active clearance preferred).  

Preferred

  • PMP, CAPM, CSM, or other program/project management certification.  
  • Experience supporting Army or DoD programs.  
  • Familiarity with AAL innovation pathways, OTAs, or SBIR/STTR contracts.  
  • Understanding of Agile/SAFe methodologies.
