Job Summary:
The Convenience Store Assistant Manager is responsible for managing a convenience store.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have excellent mathematical and organizational skills. Previous retail or convenience store experience, preferably in a management role, required. Must be professional and friendly and be able to get along with coworkers and work as a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Must possess knowledge of register operations including cash, checks, credit cards, and register receipts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the daily operations of the Convenience Store, including effective scheduling and supervision of employees.
- Recruit and train positive individuals to become team members, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Able to motivate, encourage, and challenge store team members.
- Quickly and efficiently resolve customer complaints in a professional manner.
- Implements and enforces established daily operating procedures to ensure the store is clean, adequately stocked, organized, and well kept.
- Handle exchanges and refunds in a quick, efficient manner.
- Achieve company objectives in customer service by ensuring that all customers feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service always.
- Ensure all merchandise is stocked and displays are attractive, priced correctly, and displayed in a safe manner.
- Maintain quality brand image standards.
- Supervise and discipline all store employees (including Assistant Manager) according to Company standards.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask.
- Place and receive orders in an efficient way, enter invoices in a prescribed method daily.
- Flexibility to work long hours including evenings/weekends.
- Shift coverage for call outs is a primary responsibility.
Work Environment and ADA Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for most of the shift.
- Must be able to work in an environment with loud background noise and smoky conditions.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, twist, crouch, squat, lift.
- Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.
