Job Summary: The Human Resource Business Partner works collaboratively with the Human Resources team and partners with Goodwill’s business leaders to meet strategic business outcomes. The Human Resource Business Partner will engage with leaders and staff to provide HR leadership and support in a variety of Human Resource specialties including employee relations, accommodations, HRIS support, training and development, benefits, leave, and unemployment administration, staffing, and performance management. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The Human Resource Business Partner must be sensitive to employee concerns, organizational goals, and mission attainment.
Hourly Rate: $32.12 - $34.90 per hour
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Human Resource Bushiness Partner responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned:
Provide Support and Leadership to Partners
- Work as the primary liaison between assigned locations, employees, and human resources for all human resource matters.
- Provide education, knowledge and interpretation of HR laws, regulations, and policies to support all aspects of the employee experience from onboarding to retirement.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and best practices; understand and apply all leave laws such as the FMLA and ADA.
- Partner with managers on employee relation issues to understand the circumstances, conduct investigations, and provide HR expertise, coaching, documentation, and leadership, toward timely solutions aligned with organizational values and policies.
- Engage with employees and managers to assist with questions and policy clarification; make on-site visits to store locations to provide face-to-face HR support.
- Coach supervisors to self-sufficiency in managing all elements of employee performance.
Staff Engagement & Support
- Work in partnership with the human resources team to develop, deliver, and ensure completion of assigned training, including a focus on human resources and leadership development.
- Provide managers and staff with day to day benefit and systems administration support, including increasing employee understanding of and participation in organizational benefits.
- Assist staff with training, performance, retrieving information, and accessing personal information.
Human Resource Administration
- Monitor and manage leave of absence requests, anonymous tip line submissions, and other HR related programs.
- Handle all aspects of unemployment claims, including documentation, communication with relevant agencies, and representing the company in hearings/appeals.
- Support Goodwill partners during investigations.
- Ensure digital files, personnel and other HR files, are complete, accurate, and accessible.
- Identify performance goals and complete regular documentation of progress.
- Create standard and custom reports as needed, assigned, or requested.
- Assist with reconciliation of invoices, EEO-1 reporting, and ACA tracking.
