Job Description:

Our 2026 Critical Care Postgraduate program provides a fantastic opportunity to extend your professional career by enhancing your skills and knowledge across one of the following specialty areas:

  • Intensive Care or Cardiac Nursing

You will be supported, guided, and coached throughout the program by our dedicated Clinical Educators and senior clinicians.

Intakes are February and July 2026 depending on specialty area. You will work a rotating roster whilst completing a Graduate Certificate in Intensive Care or Cardiac Nursing in collaboration with our higher education partner Deakin University.

Targeted funding to support course costs will be available for successful scholarship applicants. 

The Specialities: 

  • Intensive Care – recruiting at Epworth Eastern (Box Hill)
  • Cardiac – recruiting at Epworth Eastern (Box Hill)

These positions are 0.8 EFT, in recognition of the time commitment required to study and attend Deakin University classes, complete university assessments whilst also working to embed this knowledge into clinical practice.

This integrated role is ideal for those seeking to consolidate their learning while progressing in a structured and sustainable career pathway. In addition, you'll have access to further professional development opportunities through Epworth’s extensive scholarship program, supporting your continued growth and advancement.

Please note: Once your application with Epworth is successful, you will be required to apply to Deakin University which is a separate process. This will be discussed further at interview.

To be successful in this role…
You are passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience by delivering high-quality  care.  Professional, empathetic and compassionate in your personal conduct, you have the ability to inspire others and be a positive role model.  You are motivated to continually learn, improve and promote best practice. 

You will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Australian Citizenship / Permanent Residency; OR New Zealand Citizenship
  • A minimum of one-year acute clinical nursing experience following your graduate year within the acute clinical setting.
